For more than a decade, AdventHealth East Florida has been advancing cancer care through major investments in robotic surgery. The East Florida division has invested over $14 million to expand its program, growing from one surgical robot to a fleet of 17. As the region’s largest hospital network – with seven hospitals and 1,397 beds – AdventHealth East Florida is improving patient outcomes with minimally invasive technology. The robotic surgery program enhances precision, shortens recovery times and reduces complications. The program also expands access to advanced procedures for patients in underserved communities. In 2023, more than 2,000 patients benefited from robotic surgery, and that number increased to nearly 2,800 in 2024.

Why We Did It

Traditional surgeries require longer recovery and carry higher risks, especially for vulnerable groups. By minimizing the risk of human error, AdventHealth’s investment in robotic assistance improves precision, speeds up recovery and makes advanced, world-class procedures more accessible to local communities.
