Trump’s Tariffs Affecting Medical Devices and Technology
The Trump Administration is not backing down from a trade war with China. Three rounds of tariffs have already been imposed and more may be on the way. Medical equipment, such as x-rays, pacemakers and others, are included on the list that face 25% tariffs. The tariffs are expected to cost the U.S. medical device industry nearly $5 billion. It is still too early to know what the full impact of the tariffs will be and how they may affect patient access.
