Through its Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP), Kettering Health partnered with Declare to provide grants to faith-based and nonprofit organizations. The project supports initiatives addressing mental and behavioral health, as well as physical and relational well-being in Dayton, Ohio. The Declare Community Fund helps improve access to mental health services and support by leveraging existing community relationships and resources. Why We Did It
The 2021 Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) conducted by Kettering Health identified mental health treatment as one of the region’s leading unmet needs. To address this gap, Kettering Health partnered with Declare, an established community organization, to fund local churches and nonprofits that have trusted relationships within their communities. The goal is to empower these organizations to enhance their services and promote mental and relational health through grassroots efforts. In 2023, The Declare community fund supported nine organizations such as:- Cross Over Community Development
- Big Brothers Big Sisters - Miami Valley
- United Rehabilitation Services of Greater Dayton
- Mosaic Church
