Yesterday, the House of Representatives released the text of the final six appropriations bills for FY 2024, which would fund the government through the remainder of the 2024 fiscal year. The Senate is supposed to vote on this bill today but is uncertain whether they will approve the bill soon enough to avert a government shutdown. Unless all 100 senators agree to suspend the rules of the Senate and fast-track the bill, there remains a possibility for a very brief government shutdown. • $4.6 billion for programs addressing substance use disorder and prevention.
• $48.6 billion for the National Institute of Health.
• $1.4 billion to bolster the health care workforce.

• An extension of the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief.
