Description
The Extra Step project focuses on serving the Hispanic community in Los Angeles, particularly individuals who are uninsured, underinsured, or face language barriers. The Community Resource Center assists individuals in navigating the healthcare system, especially those referred from emergency rooms who need follow-up care. Why we did it
Adventist Health initiated the project to address the healthcare access challenges the Hispanic community faces, particularly the uninsured and those with limited knowledge of the healthcare system. Many individuals experience barriers due to language, economic status, or lack of awareness of available resources. By establishing the Community Resource Center, Adventist Health aimed to increase access to care and support individuals in their health journeys.
