In February 2024, AdventHealth added Kendu Adventist Hospital as its 16th site in the Global Missions program. Established in 1925, the hospital in Homa Bay County has 170 beds. The partnership, with Executive Sponsor Bill Heinrich, CFO for the Mid-America Region of the Multi-State Division of AdventHealth, aims to enhance healthcare access and services by providing preventive, diagnostic, curative, and rehabilitative care. Since the start of the work in Kenya, Sissel Jacob, CEO at AdventHealth Ottawa, is expected to join as the second sponsor.

The partnership between AdventHealth and Kendu Adventist Hospital means a lot to us. It comes when we are on the verge of celebrating 100 years since Kendu was established in 1925. This partnership enables us to forge ahead with a clear mission focusing on the next 100 years of medical missionary work in this part of the world and beyond.
