AdventHealth Central Texas launched an eight-week Nutrition and Healthy Eating Program in partnership with Let’s Eat Texas and the city of Killeen. The program, designed for low-income families, teaches participants how to prepare nutritious meals on a limited budget. The initiative includes chef-led cooking classes, health screenings, and meal planning assistance and provides participants with groceries and kitchen tools to practice their new skills at home.

Why We Did It

The program addresses the challenge of food insecurity and lack of knowledge about affordable, nutritious meal preparation. Many families have access to groceries but need help preparing healthy meals on a budget. AdventHealth sought to fill this gap by empowering families with skills and improving their financial and physical health.
