The Diaper Distribution Program, coordinated by Loma Linda University Health, provides essential childcare items to low-income families in San Bernardino. The program, which operates twice a month, distributed 1 million diapers in its first 15 months. Local partnerships, including the Community Action Partnership of San Bernardino County and the El Sol Neighborhood Educational Center, make this initiative possible by pooling resources and distributing them from a central location—an elementary school parking lot.

In addition to diapers, the program offers services like potty training education, preschool referrals, and 600 food boxes distributed monthly.

Why we did it

This program was initiated to address a pressing need for affordable childcare supplies in San Bernardino, where diapers can consume up to 20% of a family’s income. Many families in the area struggle to afford necessities due to rising costs. The Diaper Distribution Program aims to reduce this burden and connect families to other vital resources.
