AdventHealth Gordon donated two Lifepak CR2 defibrillators, valuing approximately $5,000, to the Fairmount Police Department to improve emergency medical response capabilities. The department strategically placed one defibrillator at City Hall and the second in an on-duty police vehicle. Through this donation, AdventHealth Gordon strengthened cooperation between local governments and first responders, expanded public safety resources for community members, and improved the department’s ability to respond effectively to medical emergencies.

Why We Did It

The Fairmount Police Department identified a potentially fatal shortcoming in its emergency response capabilities. Despite recently receiving training on defibrillator use from the Sheriff’s Office, the department lacked the equipment needed to act effectively in cardiac emergencies. By equipping both City Hall and a police vehicle with defibrillators, AdventHealth Gordon helped address this community safety need.

Community Voice

“It helps the citizens because now we have an extra tool that we can [use to] get out here and save somebody’s life. Hopefully, we don’t ever have to use one, but if we do, now we’ve got it.”
