Why we did it

The 2021 Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA) conducted by Kettering Health identified mental health treatment as one of the region’s leading unmet needs. To address this gap, Kettering Health partnered with Declare, an established community organization, to fund local churches and nonprofits that have trusted relationships within their communities. The goal is to empower these organizations to enhance their services and promote mental and relational health through grassroots efforts. In 2023, The Declare community fund supported nine organizations such as:

  • Cross Over Community Development
  • Big Brothers Big Sisters – Miami Valley
  • United Rehabilitation Services of Greater Dayton
  • Mosaic Church
  • Impact Xenia
  • Mission Addiction
  • His Hope Adult & Teen Challenge
  • The Westwood Right Project CDC
  • Nehemiah Foundation

Community Voice

“We are VERY excited about all that Abba has done so far through this generous partnership and grant funding support. With the initial investment, we were able to launch our Community Chaplain program, Kelton’s work with the Mental Health and Faith campaign, and new community partnerships around the topics of mental health – what we love to call ‘wellness, wholeness, and oneness.”
