The Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA) Training Program, offered in partnership with California Preparatory College (CPC), consists of a 12-week curriculum with 62 hours of online coursework and 100 hours of in-person clinical training. This program provides students with a pathway to a career in healthcare while Adventist Health Sonora expands its services. Recently, the program graduated its latest cohort of CNAs working in MedSurg and launched the first Medical Assistant Program, which includes virtual lectures, in-person skills boot camps, and clinical rotations.

Why We Did It

Adventist Health Sonora and CPC developed the program to address workforce shortages in rural Central Valley while meeting the community’s healthcare needs. Adventist Health aims to strengthen the local healthcare workforce by providing training and career opportunities, ensuring residents have access to quality medical services.

"I love getting to hear patients’ stories and doing what I can to lift them up and make their days happy. Becoming a CNA changed my life. I would encourage anyone considering this path to do it."
