Adventist Health Bakersfield started the Mobile Immunization Program to provide pediatric and COVID-19 vaccinations to underserved communities in Kern County. The program operated out of a mobile unit in order to reach vulnerable populations who often face transportation and language barriers. The mobile unit offered drive-up vaccinations as well as multilingual support.

Why we did it

The program was designed to address the healthcare access challenges in Kern County, particularly among minority populations and families facing transportation issues. Adventist Health Bakersfield aimed to reduce hospitalizations by bringing vaccinations directly to communities.
