The Angel Tree Program brings joy to children during the holiday season by gathering and fulfilling their wish lists. Adventist Health places these wish lists as ornaments on a Christmas tree, allowing Health associates to select and purchase gifts for the children—many of whom are in foster care or dealing with difficult life situations. Jewel Davis, the Health Information Management (HIM) Lead Technician at St. Helena Hospital, plays a key role in this project, organizing gift-giving efforts directly with the City of Vallejo and frequently meeting with the families of these children

Why we did it

The Angel Tree Program was created to support the emotional and social well-being of children in foster care, who often face added hardships during the holidays. By leveraging Adventist Health’s resources, we aim to give these children a sense of the holiday gift-giving tradition.

“I have several children at any given time, and Jewel always comes to see what I need and gets gifts for the kids in my home at that time. A lot of them have nothing and no one. She is affectionately called ‘Aunty’ by my foster kids.”
