This morning, the Trump Administration released its national legislative framework on AI policy, which will serve as a blueprint for Congress in the upcoming months. The President’s framework is built on six objectives that he hopes will achieve “American AI dominance;” these are:

1. Centralized federal AI governance to prevent “onerous regulations” that could hinder innovation;
2. Greater parental controls over accounts and devices kids may be using;
3. Guidelines to ensure AI systems pursue “truth and accuracy” and are not used to silence political expression;
4. Streamlined federal permits for data centers that would allow them to generate power on-site;
5. Exploring how intellectual property rights could be reformed to allow training of AI on copyrighted material under “fair use;”
6. Expanding education and training to create a more AI-ready workforce.
