HHS’ Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology released the final version of its HTI-1 rule. The HTI-1 rule establishes baseline requirements that health IT developers must make transparent about their algorithms, including their intended use, what populations the algorithms were trained on, the fairness of the outcomes and what kind of ongoing changes developers are making to the algorithms to promote equal outcomes.
