Last week, the House Committee on Energy and Commerce (E&C) held a markup of 44 legislative proposals related to the nation’s energy, health care, consumer protections and national security needs. Chairwoman Rogers (R-WA) highlighted the high cost Americans still continue to pay for health care despite lagging performance in life expectancy and patient outcomes when compared to peer nations. Of the bills under consideration, 19 were relating to health care—all of which have been advanced. Many of the bills advanced focus on improving transparency and reducing unnecessary health care costs. No additional action is expected on these bills in 2023. Keep reading for a full list of health care bills that are moving forward.
