This summer will be a busy one as Congress considers a myriad of healthcare bills. Below are some of the top bills under consideration:

  • R. 3164: Main Street Pharmacy Access Act
    • Expands Part B coverage to allow reimbursement for pharmacist-provided testing and treatment of common respiratory illnesses like the flu and RSV.
    • Advanced by Ways and Means with bipartisan support.
  • Physician Fee Schedule Stabilization (Multiple Bills)
    • Addresses PFS instability, including budget-neutrality thresholds.
    • Advanced; could be bundled with other Medicare-extending legislation.
  • R. 8684: Transparency in Billing Act of 2026
    • Would require that hospital outpatient departments obtain separate unique health identifiers for billing commercial plans.
    • Advanced; faces concerns in the Senate around administrative burden.
  • R. 7895: Pharmacy Benefit Manager (PMB) Kickback Prohibition Act
    • Would prohibit select PBM kickback and referral fee practices.
    • Advanced for full House consideration.

Although originally scheduled for markup, legislation to change IRS Form 990 Schedule H reporting was pulled from the congressional agenda before consideration but is still expected to be considered during the summer.
