This week, a Massachusetts federal judge ruled against the Trump Administration on vaccine policy, temporarily blocking multiple provisions of Secretary Kennedy’s vaccine policy priorities, including:

  • Issuing a stay against the January 2026 HHS memo reducing the number of routinely-recommended pediatric vaccines;
  • Suspending the recent actions of the Advisory Committee on Immunization practices, nullifying all votes taken by the committee this year;
  • Cancelling ACIP meetings scheduled for March 18 – 19, 2026.

Judge Brian Murphy ruled Secretary Kennedy had improperly replaced the vaccine committee and ignored “long-used, well-regarded scientific process for developing vaccine policies.” The preliminary injunction will be in effect while the lawsuit proceeds; the Trump Administration has already signalled its intent to appeal to the First Circuit Court of Appeals.
