CMS has finalized the Outpatient Prospective Payment System (OPPS) and Ambulatory Surgical Center (ASC) Payment System final rule for Calendar Year (CY) 2021. The rule governs Medicare payment policies for outpatient services, including care received at ASCs. With this year’s final rule, CMS demonstrates its desire to move more services into the outpatient setting. In general, policies included become effective on January 1, 2021.
