In 2026, there are 35 U.S. Senate seats up for election, along with all 435 U.S. House seats. There are 36 gubernatorial elections. To track election results, click here. To see the 2026 state primary election schedule, click here. In the meantime, this is what we know so far:

• Texas, North Carolina and Arkansas held their primaries on Tuesday.
• Texas' Republican Senator Jim Cornyn and Attorney General Ken Paxton are headed to a runoff in May for the GOP nomination to the U.S. Senate.
• State Rep. James Talarico, a Presbyterian seminarian and former teacher, won against two-term U.S Representative Jasmine Crockett in the Democratic primary for U.S. Senate.
• Texas Governor Greg Abbot won for the fourth time the GOP nomination for governor.
• Former North Carolina Governor Roy Cooper clinched the Democratic U.S. Senate nomination in North Carolina.
