President Donald Trump has unveiled the White House’s new strategy for “AI dominance” in the newly-released strategy, Winning the Race: America’s AI Action Plan. Viewing AI as a new frontier for science, the President hopes to position the United States as a leading innovator. The strategy is built around three pillars: 1) accelerating innovation; 2) Building American AI infrastructure and 3) Leading in international AI diplomacy and security. The White House’s Head of Science and Technology Policy told NPR to expect more than 90 AI policy actions in the coming year, with comment opportunities for stakeholders. The strategy is accompanied by an Executive Order prohibiting learning models that “manipulate responses in favor of ideological dogmas such as DEI.”
