In this year’s omnibus spending package, Congress approved the creation of a new federal agency tasked with funding cutting-edge biomedical research and other scientific advancements. The new Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) has already been given preliminary tasks, a $5 billion startup investment and a new home within the Department of Health and Human Services.
