Led by Senate majority-leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY), a bipartisan working group of senators focused on artificial intelligence have unveiled their roadmap for AI policy. The AI Working Group recommends that the federal government:

• Increase funding for AI innovation and research.
• Develop legislation to leverage public-private AI partnerships.
• Thoroughly explore workforce ramifications of AI use.
• Address the use of “deepfakes.”
• Ensure stakeholders can participate in AI innovation, especially the corporate and academic communities.
• Consider the need for highly-skilled STEM workers from the global employee market.
