President Trump signed an Executive Order titled Inaugurating the Era of Super Intelligence, directing federal agencies to replace the term “Artificial Intelligence” with “Super Intelligence” in executive branch communications and policy documents. The Administration stated the change is intended to reflect the rapidly advancing capabilities of these technologies and America’s leadership in the field. In the announcement, the President said “The name Super Intelligence conveys the true capabilities of the technologies being developed today, unlocking new forms of human creativity and empowering Americans to achieve what was previously impossible—not simply imitating or automating human intelligence as is implied by the term ‘Artificial Intelligence.’”
