As part of its commitment to providing accessible care to every child and their family, Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital has constructed a new Specialty Clinics building. This five-story, 105,000-square-foot facility, featuring 150 rooms, is set to house over 20 specialties under one roof, including Cardiology, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Craniofacial and Spina Bifida care, Pediatric Surgery, Speech Therapy, Immunology, and more. Additionally, the building will officially open to the public in early 2027 and is expected to support more than 75,000 visits annually. This initiative is supported by the Stronger Together Campaign, which raised $15 million to support the construction of the new Specialty Clinics in Loma Linda.

Why We Did It

Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital is building Specialty Clinics to bridge the medical access gap in the Inland Empire area. Families in the Inland Empire’s desert communities often face broken healthcare systems due to a shortage of local medical offerings. This results in these families having to travel between multiple locations to access the care they need. Coordinating this care between locations and hospitals can lead to delays in treatment that might be essential to a child’s recovery, as shared by the Center for Health Journalism. By opening the new Specialty Clinics, Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital is expanding access to specialty care, reducing travel and wait times, and strengthening coordination across disciplines by hosting different specialties under one roof.
