The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has opened a new nomination cycle for its Advisory Committee on Breast Cancer in Young Women (ACBCYW). The ACBCYW is made up of 15 experts, who serve for four-year terms, advising HHS on evidence-based prevention, risk reduction and early detection for young women. In the announcement, the CDC encourages people with the following areas of expertise to apply:  

  • Lived Experience: Survivors under 45 and their caregivers/families;  
  • Clinical Expertise: Breast health and breast cancer; 
  • Disease prevention and early detection; 
  • Genetics and hereditary breast cancer; 
  • Survivorship, including for metastatic breast cancer; 
  • Public health and risk reduction.
