The Mobile Food Health Distribution at Adventist Health St. Helena provides nutrient-packed food throughout Napa County, addressing food insecurity by removing obstacles like cost, transportation and language. In 2024, this program and its bilingual team delivered over 53,000 pounds of fresh produce and 51,000 pounds of staple foods, totaling over $120,000 in value. Thanks to their community partners – Up Valley Family Center, Calistoga Unified School District, St. Helena Unified School District, Puertas Abiertas, St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, Community Action of Napa Valley, Napa Unified School District, and COPE Family Center – the Mobile Food Health program can host distributions for families in need.

Why We Did It

Adventist Health St. Helena’s Mobile Health Food Distribution addresses a key determinant of health and local food insecurity by providing families with nutrient-dense produce. By removing barriers such as language, cost and transportation, this program increases access to food in local communities. In the near future, the Mobile Health Program plans to expand its service events to further its reach.

Community Voice

"[The Mobile Health distribution] brings care directly to the community—visiting farmers markets, schools, and health fairs to reduce barriers like transportation, language, and health literacy. This approach expands access and equity while making a lasting impact through prevention and trusted partnerships.”
