AdventHealth Central Florida partnered with Heart of Florida United Way to launch Lidera ConscienteMENTE, adapting their “Be a Mindleader” mental health campaign for the Hispanic community. The program provides culturally sensitive mental health resources in Spanish, including crisis prevention support. The initiative builds on the original campaign’s success, which reached more than 900 patients in 2023 and helped 77% of participating parents become comfortable discussing mental health with their children.

Why we did it

The Hispanic community faces unique mental health challenges. Heart of Florida United Way research shows that one in three Hispanics struggles with mental health, yet only 5% feel comfortable discussing it. This preventive approach aims to address stigma barriers and connect the community to mental health resources, information, and support in Spanish before crises emerge.
