Republican Lawmakers Consider Tying Health Package to Spending Bill
According to multiple sources, Republican lawmakers have shared a potential health package that could be attached to a three-month continuing resolution. Costs for the package would be offset by Republicans’ planned repeal of the Biden Administration’s nursing staffing final rule. Should Democrats agree and the package be adopted, it would:
- Extend telehealth flexibilities for three years.
- Extend expiring Medicare and Medicaid programs for one year.
- Increase physician payments by 2.5% in 2025.
- Reauthorize the SUPPORT Act.
- Provide flat funding to Federally Qualified Health Centers.
