The Healthcare Navigators Program at Kettering Health was created in January 2022 by a team of three registered nurses with over 75 years of combined experience. This program aims to help community members access healthcare resources, connecting them to everything from primary care physicians to mental health care and transportation support, as well as specialists and social services. The service is free, confidential, and customized to meet each individual’s needs.

Why We Did It

The Navigators program was developed to address the need for guidance within the healthcare system. Many community members faced challenges navigating their healthcare, including understanding which services they needed and how to access them. The Healthcare Navigator Program fills this gap by offering personalized assistance.

"At last year's Biometric Screening, my nurse, Kathleen, told me my blood sugars were high... The Kettering Health Navigator found me a doctor, and now my diabetes is under control. This year, I had Kathleen again as my nurse and was able to thank her.”
