Rooted in Purpose is an initiative by Adventist Health aimed at addressing food insecurity and promoting community wellness. The program establishes community gardens, local farmers markets and offers nutrition education to support underserved communities in California, Oregon and Hawaii. It helps residents grow their own food and make healthier dietary choices, leading to lasting improvements in nutrition and health.

Why We Did It

Adventist Health started the Rooted in Purpose initiative to address increasing food insecurity and preventable health problems in underserved areas. The project focuses on basic food access, better nutrition and community stability by including food systems in its community health approach.
