The Adventist Health Policy Association (AHPA) represents a coalition of Adventist health systems, with over 80 hospitals across the country, united by a shared understanding of our mission. Our healthcare professionals recognize that what keeps people healthy happens both inside and outside our hospitals and clinics. So our vision for improving health, implemented through our organizational approach, is to look beyond just hospital and provider activities. It looks broadly at everything that affects a person’s health; what experts call the social determinants of health. We recognize what really matters is how people live, what they do, and how they feel.

Collectively we are the eighth largest healthcare system in the country, but our goal is something much larger. Our mission is to promote personal and community wholeness by sharing God’s healing love with our patients and their neighborhoods. This vision is rooted in the faith that founded our institutions over 100 years ago, teaching people how to develop good health habits in addition to curing diseases. This spiritual heritage has always promoted wholeness and balance, caring for the physical, mental, social and spiritual aspects of life. That is our faith tradition and continues as our mission today..
